Cindy: Texture and Lighting

I’ve been having trouble finding a tutorial on laying out subdivision uv’s. All the posts I’ve come across so far, refer to third party programs that require purchase. I think software developers troll sites like Highend 3D to market their products to frustrated and vulnerable CG novices. If I find any knowledge that uses maya’s built-in tools, I’ll post it here for everyone’s benefit, ok? 3D is hard enough without having to invest additional cash to produce good work.

ANyhoo, here are my attempts at texturing Cindy for the “Large Orange Room” sequence. As you see I have a lot of work to do on all three characters before semester’s end.
