Changes. There comes a time when you have to make very painful edits to your project. The omitted elements either don’t serve the story or whatever. In the case of the incidal incident to Detour Thru Your Mind, Quiche running off after a Great Dane just could fit into the time frame. So, after plenty many failed attempts to cheat time, time won. Therefore, now all Quiche does is tie up the hapless Fred with her leash and runs off. This leaves the audience wondering why the pampered poodle did such a thing and Fred in such a state of loss that he loses his mind which propels us into the extraordinary world of Fred sub-conscious.

This blog entry is honor of the great dane who was omitted from the set up.
Here’s to you “Scooby Doo”.


Why does Quiche run off? Well the story of Detour thru your Mind is about, “Why”. Yes, the story is very loose, but also very fun. Quiche leads Fred down the rabbit hole and Kate and Cindy serve as the heralds who guide Fred along.
Through the whirlwind of the Collective Unconscious, LA traffic, mad psychoanalysts we eventually find out that Quiche is simply someone else dog. The dog of the threshold guardian…
